What are the Hama Beads?

Good morning internauts teachers! Today I bring you a very special resource that maybe you don't know in depth or you have seen but you have never stopped to think about the multiple educational uses for geometry!

This resource is called Hama Beads... and you will say, but what is it??? They are small pieces of plastic that can form figures of all kinds. They have many sizes and colors.

Although the use of Hama Beads has been famous recently, they were created half a century ago. Its creator was Malte Haaning, a businessman familiar with plastic who, due to a demand received, began to manufacture the Hama Beads in 1971. In 1984 the Hama brand was registered as a trademark and from that moment on, it has been one of the favorite hobbies of boys and girls in their spare time.

In addition, there are several types

HAMA MAXI

HAMA MIDI

HAMA MINI

With this resource we work on the development of fine motor skills, mathematical skills, geometric figure recognition, creativity, expressiveness, cooperation .... Do you want to know how to create figures with the hama beads? Watch this video!

As for its uses, with this resource we can work on symmetry, geometric bodies, angles, the tangram, 3D figures and you know... the recursilandia blog gives you the resources and you... You give life to those resources! 😉
