Pattern Blocks

Hello again! I hope everything is going great! In this post, I bring you, as you can imagine... A NEW RESOURCE! And I throw this question to you... What better way to work on geometry than seeing, touching and experimenting with the figures as a whole?

A resource that allows this way of working are the so-called pattern blocks. The pattern blocks are about 250 pieces of plastic or recycled wood with the following geometric figures:

- Regular hexagons yellow

- Red isosceles trapezoids

- Blue rhombuses

- Green equilateral triangles

- Cream-coloured rhombuses

- Orange squares

As these pieces are related to each other, it is possible to work on the equivalence of areas or even, fractions. In addition, you can create mosaics, mandalas, geometric drawings following a pattern (which we recommend the book edx education: Pattern Block Cards).

With the help of these patterns, the student will internalise geometrical aspects such as, for example, the side of polygons, angles, the concept of vertex...

And that's all for today internauts teachers! I hope you liked this simple to use resource and you know... the recursilandia blog gives you the resources and you... You give life to those resources!😉

A plane can be a geoplane?!?!!

What is this resource?
